
manicotti american style
| This is
a great pasta dish for family or company. I use a bottled pasta
sauce for convenience, but you can use your own favorite homemade pasta
sauce. Sometimes I add mushrooms to the sauce for variety.
Just use your imagination! |

| Ingredients |

l jar (26 ounce) prepared
pasta sauce (or use your own sauce)
l pound lean ground
beef
l 12 ounce package large
manicotti shells for stuffing (sea shell shape)
2 cups (8 ounces) shredded
mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons snipped
parsley

| Directions |

- Brown ground beef
in medium saucepan. Season to taste with salt, pepper, garlic
powder, etc. Stir in pasta sauce.
- While sauce is
simmering, bring large pot of salted water to boil. Add shells
to boiling water, and cook until barely tender or in accordance with
package directions. Drain shells in large colander, and rinse
with cold water until ready to fill.
- In medium bowl,
mix ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese and parsley.
- Pour thin layer of pasta
sauce in bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish.
- Stuff shells with cheese
mixture, and arrange shells side by side in a single layer in the baking
dish. Cover with remaining sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan
cheese.
- Bake uncovered in a 350 degree
oven for 30 - 40 minutes, until bubbly. Delicious!
